Shoe Size
To determine your shoe size, you first need to know the size of your foot. The best way to measure your foot and determine your shoe size is to measure your foot's Heel-Toe Length with a ruler or tape measure and get a good estimate of the size of your foot (there are many other measurements that affect the fit of your shoes, but this is the best measurements to take).
To help determine your correct shoe size, use the largest foot size obtained from these measurements on both feet and consider how form-fitting you want the shoe to be. Typically, you want approximately one thumbs width between the end of the big toe and the end of the shoe. Since thumbs can be between 1/2" and 3/4" wide, you should consider a shoe size that 1 or 2 sizes bigger than your foot size.
How To Measure?
-
Sit in a chair with the foot firmly placed on a piece of paper.
-
Holding a pencil perpendicular to your foot, trace an outline of your foot. Note: Make sure the pencil is snug against the foot during the tracing.
-
Draw horizontal and vertical lines as shown in the figure to the Left.
-
Measure the length of traced foot.
-
Subtract 5mm (0.2 Inches) from each measurement to compensate for the thickness of the pen or pencil.
